It was my old sweater. Made by hand nearly 30 years ago. It's a sunny yellow with little blue flowers knit into the back. Annie wore it. I doubt Lily wore it, since she was born in June in the tropics of Florida. But Ada wore it two nights ago when I went out to dinner with some girlfriends. She looked lovely in her pink, ruffled, footie pjs with a high collar coupled with the old yellow sweater. A perfect lady for dinner with the chicks.

My friend, Alison, sent this to me when Ada was born. I love it.
Charlotte Rebecca Jones,
22nd August, 1969
When the time comes it is always unexpected
And a miracle. Charlotte,
Caught in the violence of creation,
Thrust into life, disconnected
From her bearer, arrived, scarlet,
Shouting. There is no explanation
For the tearing violence of a birth.
The Lord himself, when the Word first was spoken,
Took fistfuls of formless chaos, wrested
Sky, sea, and our familiar earth
From naught. So nothingness by Love was broken
And it was good. And then God rested.
He calls his creatures each to take his part
In this great cosmic heave of love and birth,
Sharing the mighty act of his creation.
We understand this only with the heart,
With pain and joy and pure celestial mirth.
The miracle of Charlotte needs no explanation.
Is it just me, or do these two look alike?
8 Days Old
18 Days Old
Annie or Ada?
Speaking of things that remind me of other things, or people who remind me of other people...
here is Jonathan with Ada a day after she was born.
Such a quirky fellow.
And here he is in the SAME T-SHIRT the day after ANNIE was born!
Few things have changed.

She's into her second month with us, so this post is looong overdue.
It's high time we introduce you to Gabriela, (Bagilella, as Lils calls her), our intern.
She is a great help to us and we appreciate her immensely.
She's great with our girls and is affording Jonathan and me occasional date nights and opportunities to take Hindi and run errands. Oh that third pair of hands is invaluable when you add a third little person into the mix!
She bakes cookies
And even makes peanut butter play-doh!
This is Annie's...I'm not sure what it is.
This is Gabriela's cow.
And this is Lily's "nake" (snake.)
We get her for two more months and then she heads North to a children's home to volunteer for three months! The Lord knows what we need!! Praise Him for Bagilella!
